Hawkshead, The Lake District and Cumbria
Renowned for its connections to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, there are a number of National Trust properties in Hawkshead and visitors will love to wander around the pretty village streets. Just a few miles from the cottage is Lake Windermere, where there are plentiful opportunities for taking boat trips, which take visitors to Bowness, Ambleside, and Castle Wray, amongst other places of interest. Not to be missed is a visit to Claife Heights, with its purpose built viewing platform affording unrivalled views of Lake Windermere and its surroundings. Entering this end of terrace cottage, guests will find the cosy, homely lounge with its large sofa, electric fire, TV (with BT sport), DVD, radio, CD, and iPod dock. There is also a payphone for guests convenience. The kitchen/diner is decorated in a country style and has a dining table seating four, oven, hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The first is a sumptuously decorated four poster room with double bed, pine dressing table and plenty of storage space for clothes. The second bedroom is a simple and tasteful twin room. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and WC. There is a walled patio area at the front of the cottage with table and chairs and a bench by the back door which offer somewhere to sit and enjoy the sun at the end of the day, perhaps with a glass of wine or cup of coffee.
