Walk from your door to Lacy s Caves, where you will find five chambers carved into the sandstone cliffs less than half a mile from home. Continue on to Long Meg and her Daughters and make it a loop by adding in a visit to the village of Little Salkeld, the route is 4.5 miles long and great for a gentle walk. A 12.5 mile journey will take you to the northern tip of Ullswater, a beautiful body of water where you can make a splash and hire boats or enjoy a leisurely cruise on an Ullswater Steamer. Make your way inside this quaint, single storey home and begin your escape to the Lake District. Built as a gatehouse in 1900, this bolthole exudes character and charm and is a welcoming place to call home. The open plan living space is light, bright and airy, yet cosy thanks to the wood burner which throws heat into the space. Lose yourself in a good book or switch on the TV/DVD for a romantic film night. Find all you need to rustle up delicious snacks and feasts from dawn til dusk in the kitchen area with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and washing machine. This bright space invites you to cook up a storm and throw together tasty picnics to help fuel your adventures. Dine together at the table and pop open a bottle or two for date nights in this lovely home. When it s time to get snug and head to bed, the double bedroom is a wonderful place to rest. Decorated in neutral tones with pretty patterns scattered throughout, admire the ornamental fireplace and the views from the bay window. Guests have access to a private section of the beautiful River Eden, a quarter of a mile s walk from the front door you might recognise this section of river from the BBC's 'Gone Fishing Christmas Special' (2021) with Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse
