Keen walkers can take a stroll along the Viking Coastal Trail which runs from Ramsgate around the Kent coastline to Herne Bay taking in the pretty towns of Margate (5 miles) with its famous Turner Contemporary Gallery and Broadstairs known for its connections to Charles Dickens. For a spot of retail therapy visit Westwood Cross (2 miles), one of Europe s largest retail parks.
