Offering the perfect base to explore the northern Lake District and western fells. You are only 7 miles from the town of Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth, and the town boasts a great selection of independent restaurants, shops and pubs. The town of Keswick (20 miles) hosts a market every Saturday and there is a farmer s market on a Thursday. This retreat is located only 3 miles from Loweswater and Holme Force waterfalls. The Wainwright Blake Fell (2 miles away) is the highest point of the Loweswater Fells. Within 20 miles, you will find Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater where you can sail and kayak. For bike enthusiasts, Whinlatter is 14 miles away and has some great bike tracks. Visit the harbour town of Maryport, 15.5 miles, which has an aquarium with a café, crazy golf and children s play area, and the Wave Centre which is home to a Clip and Climb indoor climbing facility, great for a wet day!
