Families will love having to choose between the beautiful art deco indoor pool in Appleby and the open air swimming pool in Shap, 10 miles away. The Northern Lake District is within an easy drive; enjoy a trip to the pretty village of Pooley Bridge which sits on the banks of Ullswater, where you can stroll along the shore, hire a boat or jump on a steamer and take in the breathtaking scenery.
