For the adventurous, take on the mighty Scafell Pike, set 13.5 miles away and England s highest mountain, it has views that have inspired the likes of Wainwright, Wordsworth and Coleridge. Closer to home, the village of Boot boasts two popular pubs serving fresh food and real ales just a mile away. No visit to this area would be complete without a trip on the famous Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, known as La al Ratty, and there s a station 1 mile away in Dalegarth.
