This pretty, stone cottage enjoys a great location within the heart of the village, offering spacious and comfortable accommodation with a secluded south facing garden. The rural village of Dorstone lies at the head of Herefordshire s Golden Valley, 6 miles from the 'book town', Hay on Wye. It has a friendly community with welcoming pub, church and community hall. Hay on Wye is a bustling town with a weekly market on Thursdays, arts and crafts, and a year round events calendar that includes the famous literary festival at the end of May and smaller Winter Festival at the end of November. Hay is set on the Welsh Borders and banks of the River Wye where you can embrace the wildlife, wild swimming, pony trekking, cycling and canoeing. There area is a hub for walkers, with easy access to the surrounding hillsides, such as the Black Mountains, Hay Bluff, Offa s Dyke and Gospel Pass. The archaeological sites of Arthur's Stone and Snodhill Castle, both featured on the BBC's 'Digging for Britain', are within walking distance of the Cottage. Hereford Cathedral, well known for its chained library and the Mappa Mundi is 15 miles away. Access to this charming cottage is via a front entrance hall, with plenty of storage for coats and walking boots. From here, guests can access the heart of the home, the kitchen/diner which is spacious and well equipped, with everything you may need for your stay, and table and chairs seating for six people. One of the two working spaces is opposite the kitchen. Further into the cottage and up a couple of steps, there is a welcoming lounge with comfortable seating and a Smart TV with DVDs, as well as Bluetooth speakers and a selection of books and games. A wood burner provides a cosy warmth. And for planning your next adventure, there is a wealth of guidebooks and maps provided by the owner. The lounge opens onto the garden. The ground floor also offers a spacious bedroom with a king size zip and link bed (that can be made into twin 2"6' beds on request at the time of booking), and a cloakroom with an additional WC. Upstairs, there is a large landing with a study/sitting area, a spacious double bedroom, and a bathroom with a separate shower, bath, and WC. Outside, the south facing garden features a wooden table and benches, sun loungers and deck chairs, a charcoal BBQ, and a secure storage area for bikes. Off road parking.
