The largest settlement in England, Bembridge, is located on the Isle of Wight's easternmost point. Because Bembridge was formerly an island and up until the Victorian era, it was made up of a collection of wooden homes and farms. As a result, Bembridge continues to seem somewhat isolated from the rest of the island, which adds to its beauty. Bembridge, one of the island's more upscale neighbourhoods, has a surprisingly bustling intertidal sheltered harbour that is constantly brimming with fishing boats and pleasure boats, providing a steady flow of traffic to and from The Solent. From the harbour, you can access uncrowded beaches with sand and pebbles that are great for swimming, beachcombing, and crabbing. In strong winds, you'll also see lots of kite surfers in action.
The Isle of Wight, with its beaches, unspoiled scenery, rich heritage and over 500 miles of award-winning public footpaths is a walker’s paradise, or if sailing is your thing, the renowned annual Cowes Week is not to be missed.
