This mediaeval settlement, which dates back to the 8th century and is notable for the spectacular 13th century moated castle remains built by Edward 1st, is located in the lovely Vale of Clwyd. On portions of the river, the community offers salmon and trout fishing, as well as good taverns and a number of golf courses nearby. This location is well-known for picturesque walks over the Clwydian Hill range or the Offa's Dyke trail. Bodelwyddan Castle is nearby, and it has sports facilities, the National Art Gallery of Wales, and country fairs and vintage car events on a regular basis.
