There is nothing like a tranquil country town like that of Fowey, tucked away in a valley surrounded by forests and meadows. Antique shops and dealers abound as well as quaint country taverns, eateries, and an active farmer's market in this quaint town known for its antiques and collectibles. Nearby attractions include the National Trust's Lanhydrock House and grounds, as well as Boconnoc House, the Eden Project's shipwreck museum, Charlestown's tall ship harbour, and attractive fishing villages Mevagissey, Fowey, and Padstow. For wonderful family fun in this picturesque area that includes world-famous Newquay and the rolling Atlantic surf and miles of white sand beaches, head to Cornwall's north coast, where you'll find attractions like the world-famous surf break and towering cliffs. Activities like tug of war, Carnival, and outboard motor races for seagulls are also organised by the friendly locals. There is an 8-mile stretch of river Fowey that flows from the town to the gentler southern shore, making it a natural haven for those who enjoy the sea. Because of its convenient location and the abundance of things to see and do in the surrounding area, Lostwithiel is an excellent choice for visitors looking for a respite from the bustle of tourist hotspots.

Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
