For those looking to get away from it all yet still be close enough to the bustling city of Leeds and Haworth, Cross Hills is the place to be. Shopping, dining, and a variety of small businesses abound in the village's bustling centre, which is home to a variety of locals' favourite spots. Skipton, located a little further out, is known as the "Gateway to the Dales,". The town of Keighley, which was made famous by the 1970s film "The Railway Children," is located in the opposite direction. Haworth, the literary hotspot and birthplace of the Brontë sisters, and the surrounding moorland that inspired their works are also easily accessible.
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
Short breaks may still be available.
