Bartestree is a small village and civil parish in Herefordshire, between the Wye Valley AONB and Hereford. The Convent of Our Lady of Charity & Refuge, built in 1863, is a landmark in the village. A traditional fish and chip shop, a few country pubs, and a contemporary restaurant, Carriages Restaurant, are all nearby, as is the village shop. Hereford, a nearby city with an imposing cathedral, shopping and a location just 16 miles from the Wales/England border, offers attractions and day trips. The Wye Valley AONB is also popular with tourists for its scenic walking and cycling routes.
Herefordshire offers visitors the chance to journey through lush green countryside, enjoying splendid black-and-white timbered villages, a magnificent cathedral city, a fairytale Georgian castle at Eastnor or books galore in famous Hay-on-Wye.
