The tranquil Torridge Valley in Devon is home to the Devon settlement of Sheepwash. In the town square, you'll find a shop and a cosy traditional pub serving tasty local fare and ales made right on the premises. Sheepwash is located in the middle of Ruby Trail Country and is just a short distance from the Tarka Trail or the seaside, making it ideal for hikers and country lovers. It is highly likely that you will see an otter family along the River Torridge, as well as some Kingfishers. Bude, Clovelly, Bideford, and Westward Ho! are just a few of the nearby coastal towns where you may enjoy typical seaside activities, surfing, and the South West Coast Path. Many National Trust properties, including the RHS Rosemoor at Great Torrington and the Miniature Pony Centre at Moretonhampstead, are within a 20-minute drive, as are the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Other family-friendly attractions include the Big Sheep in Bideford, Trethorne Leisure Farm in Launceston and the Miniature Pony Centre at Moretonhampstead.
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
