Kinvara is a lovely seaside village in south County Galway, situated on the edge of the world-famous "Burren" in Galway Bay. Dunguaire Castle marks the entrance to Kinvara, where mediaeval feasts are still hosted, and the small harbour still houses working specimens of 'Galway Hookers,' the majestic sailing ships that used to sell their wares between Connemara and Kinvara. There are various bars, stores, and cafés here, as well as a renowned farmer's market every Friday and two festivals commemorating culture and tradition each year. The small city of Galway, popularly known as the "city of festivals," with its charming alleyways and colourful nightlife, is within easy reach, while the Burren National Park and Nature Reserve, where animals and plant life abound, is only 7 miles distant. A fantastic location at any time of year.
Towering cliffs stand next to vast stretches of golden sand, whilst vast mountain ranges cradle cool, low-lying lakes. The Galway region epitomises the term ‘great outdoors’; with fantastic walking and cycling and exhilarating water sports.
