Since Roman times, the market town of Malton has served as the historical hub of Ryedale. It is home to a number of noteworthy structures, including the former Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. The town continues to host a general market once a week in addition to livestock and farmer's markets. It's a great area for walkers and bikers because the Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Wolds lie to its north and south, respectively. The historic city of York is 18 miles away, while the stunning coastline is only 24 miles away. A great starting point for exploring North Yorkshire's attraction.
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
