This property does not accept pets and sorry, no smoking. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Within 1 mile there is a shop and pub. Great Broughton is a small village located in the civil parish of Broughton and the Cumbrian Borough of Allerdale. It provides all you need and more for a self-catered stay close to the Lake District, including three pubs, a Royal British Legion branch, and a Post Office with village store. With the River Derwent running through the neighbourhood, there are several beautiful walking pathways nearby, including both coastal footpaths and rich terrain. The National Trust's Wordsworth House and Garden, the former home of romantic poet Wordsworth himself, is located in Cockermouth. Here, you can take a tour of the Georgian townhouse and explore the riverside garden that served as Wordsworth's inspiration. It is home to 18th-century varieties of vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers as well as a friendly flock of heritage chickens. Additionally, Cockermouth's mediaeval castle remains, lovely Memorial Gardens, and forest gardens are all worth exploring. The primary shopping district for west Cumbria is located in the coastal town of Workington, which also boasts the Helena Thompson Museum, the imposing Workington Hall, and a wealth of fascinating history just waiting to be explored.
