A little fishing village near Helston, Porthleven is a coastal beauty in south-west Cornwall, best known for hosting the annual Flora Dance Festival. Porthleven, a small town in Cornwall, is located between Lizard Point and Land's End and has stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the stunning Cornish shoreline. Plenty of boating and nautical activity can be found in the ancient, attractive inner harbour, which is also home to the city's famous clock tower. All year long, families may enjoy the town's many attractions, including its maze of streets lined with traditional Cornish granite cottages, its long, patrolled beach, the opportunity to dine al fresco at any of several highly rated restaurants, and crabbing in the harbour. With the establishment of a well-attended culinary festival each spring, Porthleven is rapidly becoming known as a great place to dine. In the off-season, Porthleven's surf break is one of the greatest in the country, and it's easy to while away the hours just watching the vivacious surfers. Praa Sands, Poldhu Cove, and Rinsey are just a few of the beautiful, secluded coves along this stretch of coast. You've probably even seen images of Porthleven on the news, as it's one of the best places in the UK to see a storm and the crashing winter waves there are frequently used as a backdrop for weather reports. The South West Coast Path is a favourite with hikers, who may enjoy the beautiful scenery by walking west past Rinsey Head or south through Loe Bar to Penrose Estate, home to a National Trust cafe, and on to Gunwalloe Church Cove. Visit the Islands of Scilly by plane or boat and stop in at the beautiful Tresco Abbey, which features a subtropical garden. While in the St. Austell area, check out the Eden Project. To fully appreciate all that west Cornwall and the Lizard Peninsula have to offer, make Porthleven your home base.

Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
