The village is best known for The Knoll, a 137 foot high hill that dominates the landscape that surrounds the pristine Somerset Levels. Nearby, and within quick access of the village, you can explore the many wonderful, rural nature reserves that reside nearby, including the Steart Marshes, Westhay Moor, Ham Wall, Avalon Marshes, and the Bleadon Levels, whilst the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty positively-brims with magnificent limestone hills, popular with hikers and spelunkers alike.
