Also in the cottage are a fitted kitchen with dining area and sitting area with woodburner. Outside is off road parking for two cars and a patio with furniture. Situated in the heart of Northumberland, The Barn Cottage is a lovely romantic base to explore this lovely part of the country.
A bustling little market town, Hexham is full of antique shops and popular with tourists visiting nearby Hadrian’s Wall. Beautiful old Hexham Abbey dates back to the 7th Century and has a superb Saxon crypt. Shoppers flock to colourful stalls in The Shambles in the Market Place on Tuesday and close by is the 14th Century Moot Hall, now an art gallery. The town boasts plenty of open spaces, particularly the Sele, next to the Abbey which is now a lovely public park.
Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.
