Marigold Cottage is a cosy, traditional cottage in Clun, Shropshire. With one mezzanine-style double bedroom and a bathroom on the landing, this cottage can sleep two people. There's also an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner. Outside, there is a small courtyard garden with furniture plus secure bike storage and a roadside parking nearby on a first come, first served basis. Marigold Cottage sits in a superb position for discovering this peaceful little village, and offers a wonderful romantic retreat. Note: As of 5th January 2023, this property will accept one small dog.

A.E. Houseman's poem, “A Shropshire Lad”, called Clun “the quietest place under the sun”, and with its dramatic ruin of a Norman castle, Saxon church, the bustling river which flows under the 14th Century pack horse bridge, and two country inns, Clun is a rural gem situated in the South Shropshire Hills.

A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
