Named after the owners’ grandfather, Pop’s Barn is a secret hideaway on one level with one bedroom and ensuite shower room as well as an open plan living and dining area designed to maximise the space on show.
A narrow path will lead you off a side lane to stumble upon the pretty brick property, which despite its seclusion, it is perfectly located for the numerous attractions this popular area has to offer.
Guests can enjoy peaceful bistro dining experience in the garden, while couples will be able to relax and unwind in Pop’s Barn.
Downton is right next to the edge of the New Forest which has an almost limitless array of superb walks and rides, and free-roaming ponies at every turn. Slightly farther afield are the Saxon hilltop town of Shaftesbury, Blandford Forum with its Roman connections, and beautiful stretches of coast; the South West Coast Path starts in Poole Harbour. Downton itself is a very pleasant village with a good selection of shops and pubs, and the River Avon flowing through the middle.
