Hawkshead is a village and civil parish in Cumbria, England, situated in the South Lakeland area. The village is famous for being the place poet William Wordsworth was educated and Beatrix Potter lived nearby. Most of the land in the village is now owned by the National Trust. During Medieval times, Hawkshead was an important place for the wool trade.
